Little 5 month old Maple Mountain Splash of Maple,
better known as Mable, took Grand Champion Mare
at Norfolk County Fair!
It was almost a clean sweep for Maple Mountain who took home Grand Champion Mare with Maple Mountain Splash of Maple, Grand Champion Gelding for MiLo Acres Ladies Man, and Reserve Grand Champion Stallion for MiLo Acres Just For The Ladies, on the day.
MHCO Year End Results for 2008
put Maple Mountain
and MiLo Acres Training Centre
on top again!
Four of the five horses on the Maple Mountain show string for 2008 took home top honours from the MHCO Year End Awards banquet. MiLo Acres Just For the Ladies, owned by Maple Mountain and shown by Dale Zimon, won Champion 2 Year Old Stallion A & B. Armando's Simply Elegant, owned by Maple Mountain and shown by Mackenzie DeGelder, took home Reserve Champion 2 Year Old Mare A & B while Sweetdream's Ima Beauty, owned by Nancy Shantz of Sweetdreams Miniatures and shown by Lori Rafter of MiLo Acres Training Centre, took Champion 2 Year Old Mare A & B. Treherne's Samurai Warrior, owned by Randy and Rebecca Ashworth of Treherne Miniatures and shown by Lori Rafter of MiLo Acres Training Centre, took Champion Senior A Stallion. A very good end to a wonderful year of showing!
Lori Rafter, of Maple Mountain Miniatures and MiLo Acres Training Centre, along with 11 year old Mackenzie DeGelder, and Sue Flaherty, who graciously provided the transportation, attended the annual Hamilton Participation House Family Picnic on June 24th, 2007. It was a beautiful, hot and sunny day and the crowd was huge. Miniature Horses, Missy and Ellie, were a big hit with everyone. They were wonderful little ambassadors handling all the pats and attention with their usual aplomb. They provided many photo ops for the families coming and going all afternoon. All in all, a wonderful day for everyone.
